Piezosystem Jena is a world leader in fast and robust fiber switching. In 1999 Piezosystem Jena introduced as one of the first companies in the world fiber optic switches for multiplexing of optical signals.

Since then Piezosystem Jena has expanded its line to a variety of fiber switches for different types of fibers and different numbers of channels. Standard configurations are switches from 1 by 1 up to 2 by 9 channels. Standard fiber diameters are 50 to 600 microns. All kinds of connectors can be used. By utilizing piezoelectric actuator technology, Piezosystem Jena can guarantee a very fast switching and high accuracy in the positioning of the optical fibers resulting in minimal losses. All switches from Piezosystem Jena work without any optical components. Hence there is no dependency on any wavelength. All switches can be used from UV up to the IR region. |
